The last wedding of 2014 saw us heading over to Newark on a crisp frosty morning for the wedding of Libby and Tom. Two years had elapsed since Libby met me as a fellow wedding supplier at a wedding fair and booked us.

The lovely couple had chosen to base themselves at Centre Parks (just down the road from their venue) for the weekend and Libby and Tom prepped for the big day with their girls and guys in a cluster of chalets nestled in Woodland. Being part of the wedding industry understandably they chose some amazing suppliers  for their big day. Alison Jenner worked her magic with Libby’s beautiful hair creation with flowers and Make up by Jenni made Libby looked naturally stunning.  I had seen both their work before but never had the joy of working alongside them until now. Libby looked gorgeous in her Stewart Parvin dress with the addition of a gorgeous fur shrug for warmth as well as style. Tom scrubbed up well in a brown pin striped suit, with blue ties and tan shoes and Marco my second shooter spent the morning  capturing their fun and  some of the morning mayhem; like a missing tie! All turned out well and nothing was going to ruin the day!

This was one wedding where we knew the attention to detail and food would be not overlooked and we weren’t disappointed at all. Being food caterers themselves (White Fine Foods), they opted for the best and provided the food themselves. The transformation of the already beautiful Thoresby Riding Hall was superb.  With much time and effort from the bride and groom and with the help of Nadine (Nerissa Eve Weddings) the venue was transformed into a wonderful winter wonderland. Mrs Umbels pulled out all the stops with stunning flowers that prettied the place up some more. The couples love of brick, stags and nature shone through.

At the pre wedding meeting, I was overjoyed when they led me down the windy path away from the grand buildings to a wooden shabby chic cricket pavilion. This made an ideal setting for bridal party pictures on the day. Thanks to everyone who braved the bitterly cold conditions with the girls sticking wellies on and wrapping up in their fur . . . truly helped us to create some amazingly unique shots.

Come the evening there was a volley of music, dancing, photo props, casino and sparklers. With the band  “Year 6 disco” starring one of the ushers, everybody got on their feet to create a lively dance floor.

Hats off to you both, you took on the biggest job . . . on the biggest day of your lives and pulled it off, it was a truly amazing day! Thanks for inviting us along. xx
