We kick started the new year with this joy of a wedding. Lovely couple Victoria and Anthony got married in the splendid Holy Trinity Church, King Street, Leicester and then moved onto The City Rooms, a beautiful city centre venue just a short walk away.

Being around as the bride and groom are getting ready for the big event provides us with a great opportunity to watch and capture things as they evolve. Vicky got ready in her mother in laws home with mum, sisters, bridesmaids and two little ones adding to the happy hustle and bustle. When I’d previously met Vicky on their engagemt shoot, I was pretty sure she’d be laid back on her wedding morning; I wasn’t wrong. The beautiful ‘to be’ totally took everything in her stride and the end result was a truly radiant Bride. What a wet morning though!  Over at Vicky and Anthony’s house just a few streets away the grooms party readied themselves attentively. Having dropped off some things at the The City Rooms, both Groom and Best Man took a regal walk through the busy town up to the Church. Great seeing these two done up to the nines amidst Saturday shoppers! The rain did show some signs of easing but just wouldn’t quite break; luckily we had planned ahead to avoid shooting too much outside.

With Victoria’s family having strong ties to the Church, this was always going to be an important part of the day and the whole ceremony was warm, loving and very personal. The Vicar was brilliant and pretty much let us do our thing. We felt very privileged to get to capture such a personal celebration and everybody within the church looked amazingly happy during an extremely upbeat service.  Through all this loveliness no one shone quite as much as Victoria though. She beamed from first thing in the morning until we left the party well into the evening. One happy bride. Anthony although showing signs of nerves in the morning looked very content with his wife by his side.  After husband and wife walked down the aisle, they celebrated their marriage with tea and cakes which maintained the  lovely relaxed feel of the day.

The City Rooms is a beautiful building inside and out and we had a great time capturing some special moments. The ballroom which the reception was to be held, looked truly stunning, with fine wintry details including snowflakes and sparkly reindeers; all the work of Eve Lily.

Congratulations Victoria and Anthony, wishing you lots of love and laughter in your future together! xx
