Manor Mews was Katie and Johnny’s chosen wedding venue and as an idyllic holiday cottage complex nestled in the beautiful Norfolk countryside, I could see why. It immediately felt like you were away from it all and relaxed was to be the word of the day. I just had to make sure I didn’t chill out too much, I had a job to do! Even whilst I’ve been editing through the pictures I have felt that relaxed vibe come through.

With Johnny and Katie getting ready literally meters away from each other it was perfect to flit between the two and capture their preparations. The boys were busy with their whisky changing into their tweed attire, looking smart but relaxed. Katie was being pampered by her hair stylist and makeup artist whilst enjoying the banter of her bridesmaids. One of the biggest challenges of the day was for Katie to get from one cottage to another, where her dress was, without being seen! To be kept and stuck in a cottage (all be it a very lovely cottage) was not the plan. At one point I thought (and I think Katie did too) that she was going to be walking down the aisle in her dressing gown.

Amongst all the gorgeous details of the day, . . . the dress, the blue heart shaped heart cut from Katie’s dads work shirt, the boys waistcoat, the bunting and references to their love of music . . . . what had to stand out the most for me was how deliriously happy Katie and Johnny were with each other. So fabulous to see.

Great families and guests all up for a good time (some of them by pure coincidence I already knew!), whether that meant having a game of cricket or chatting over a glass of vino. Thank you to everybody for making me feel so welcome. A Best Man is always supposed to play up to the role of being the best man but running half way up a hill to save me from a crazily high advantage pint was sure going that extra mile. Almost the hero but not quite as we both went tumbling to the ground. All captured by a very talented usher who had taken hold of my camera when I passed it down safely before my collapse. If you look carefully there are a couple of images in this post that were definitely not taken by me. Oh it was a laugh but hopefully never again!

The day finished beautifully with Johnny doing a surprise song and tune on a ukulele for his wife, just perfect. Thank you for inviting me to your wedding in Norfolk, it was very unique and felt like a holiday. Brilliant from start to finish. I wish you all the happiness in your life together.
