This is part 2 of our few days away in Cornwall photographing the wedding of Dawn and Tim. Having seen them the evening before, I knew that they were very clued up on the weather report; we were to expect rain and lots of it! How can the weather change so dramatically within 24 hours? We arrived at Trevenna, a beautiful cluster of barns set in the stunning cornwall countryside, as Marco went off to find the boys cottage I went up to see the girls getting ready. Our mindset matched the lovely couple, the rain was not going to ruin the day and it was going to be great whatever! We couldn’t have asked for a better couple on a rainy day. Brilliant. The getting ready ran smoothly, with Dawn enjoying being pampered with her hair and makeup and her bridesmaids all girly and doing their own and each other’s hair. Marco magically convinced the besuited boys to nip outside with umbrellas to check out the rain!

Dawn and Tim had chosen this venue to have a truly intimate ceremony with their nearest and dearest. The first view of Dawn was truly striking as she appeared at the top of a flight of stairs flooded by daylight at the back of the darkened room where the service was to be held. She then glided down the stairs delicately passing bouquets of white flowers dressing the banister. A hugely emotional service followed. I honestly thought at one point that Dawn wasn’t going to get through her vows. Lovely to see tears, not so great that I got blurry eyed too!

We dodged in and out of the rain clouds, managing to capture a lovely confetti shot outside and proceeding through all of their groups. We also didn’t want to ignore the fact that the day was very wet, so with the willingness of the newly weds we got some gorgeous fun pictures of the two of them sat under umbrellas against the misty background of the moors.  There were so many personal touches to this wedding, that I think they just took as the norm but having photographed quite a few weddings we have never seen handwritten personal messages to each and every guest from the bride and the groom on a postcard before. So unique and so lovely. The high five that they gave each guest as they were introduced in to the reception room was a joy to see, they really did care that every single one of them was there to celebrate their happy occasion.

We’re guessing that your day was everything that you had hoped for, despite the wet weather.  You were brilliant to be around, so laid back and happy. The relaxation was contagious. You nailed it!!  Wishing you years of happiness xx
