As Steph and Matt’s big day arrived we entered in to September and the weather felt like it was picking up. The sun was shining as I met up with Steph and her bridesmaids in one of the rooms at their reception venue, The Royal Oak, Long Whatton, Leicestershire. On hand to help them beautify themselves was talented make up artist Jessica Nurse and hairdresser Rachel. All very calm, even with little ones running around. Although already great in front of the camera,  Steph was transformed further into a beautiful bride. Dressed in a Pronovias lace mermaid dress with a sweetheart neckline she really did look amazing.  Meanwhile, Marco was capturing what the grooms party were up to at the couples home as they readied themselves for a short pre Church visit to the pub. Matt was pretty relaxed with the support of his crew; all in navy Ted Baker suits with the groom and best men in duck egg coloured cravats. They all looked pretty suave. I can’t quite believe I’ve got this far into their blog post without mentioning their son Archie (at times the star of the show!). A ball of energy, he was a photographer’s dream. Funny, entertaining and cute. The day wouldn’t have been the same without him!

St James the Greater Church, Oaks-in-Charnwood, Leicestershire was the place of service. Walking down the aisle with her Dad to live music in the form of Ashmore Acoustics, it was a very classy entrance. The service was beautifully delivered with very emotional vows, Steph just about managed to hold it together to get through them, Once again tears from me behind the lens! En route from the church to the Marquee at The Royal Oak, Long Whatton, their chauffeur very kindly stopped a couple of times to get some beautiful pictures of the happy couple in some fields with amazing backdrops. Finally joining their wedding party at the Marquee, with drinks flowing and more live music performed by the talented Ashmore Acoustics, they engaged with the sunny lively atmosphere surrounding them.

It was lovely to see that a lot of thought had gone into planning the wedding in order to make sure Archie was happy. Games by The Rustic Bunting Company, had been set out in the garden of the marquee keeping Archie and various guests entertained. After dinner an ice cream van “Archie’s ices” arrived to serve Archie’s favourite pudding! To celebrate their love for each other the wedding day developed into one huge party. Everybody got into the spirit of it and the guests played a large part in creating the lively atmosphere!

You set out to have the day of your dreams, with special people around you and create happiness and fun. In the words of Oasis “you’ve gotta make it happen” and you certainly did!

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Smith (and Archie!) xxx
