The 12th September arrived and it was Amanda and Kier’s turn to get married. I know that the run up to their day had been immense as I saw it with my own eyes, it really was a huge family effort. I went over a couple of days before and saw them running around like crazy amongst other things, making terrine for 100 people . . . I did wonder if they were totally mad!

Apart from the legal bit that took place in a church up the road, the whole day was based around their family home, farm and fields. I spent the morning at the house with Amanda and her gang and loved the laid back approach. With the ‘bride to be’ making breakfast, her mum vacuuming and cleaning the door, yes the door, her dad along with her cousins lugging freezers across fields and her sister/bridesmaid arranging all the gorgeous flowers in the marquee. Fab. Slightly chaotic but definitely great to watch. It was not much of a surprise when Amanda was running late for church! Although the vicar was chilled, the organist was on a tight timescale and with this in mind the vicar hurried Amanda along, it was the quickest bridal entrance I’ve ever witnessed . . . blink and you missed it! The service itself was so honest and personal, with an added extra of humour. There was a lot of joy and laughter in the air as they became Mr & Mrs. After the service it was back to the farm and fields where a marquee had been erected, decorated to the max and sitting nicely by the side was a helter skelter, swing boats and coconut shy. There was SO many things I loved about this wedding, the homemade lollies, the hanging light shades, the personalised tags in the bridesmaid dresses, the “I do” painted on the Brides nail, the homemade pies, the mini fairground . . . . and not forgetting the bride and groom’s zest for life. With a strong relationship and a brilliant family behind them, they looked like they were having a ball!

A big thank you to Marc of Photographic Futures for stepping in as second shooter and capturing the boys in the morning and showing us brilliantly what they got up to.

If I had to describe your day in one word it would have to be fun with a capital F. I may have had a tiny doubt whether you had taken too much on and could still manage to enjoy your day. I should never have doubted it really because you totally smashed it . . . An amazing day from start to finish! Congratulations guys! Xx
