Over the couple of times I met with Leigh and Che, I came to realise that their wedding day would show a strong sense of who they are, their love for each other and of course their tattoos! They are the kind of couple, you meet and take an instant liking to.

On Saturday 24th October, I arrived at Indy’s hairdressers in Leicester to photograph the beginning of Leigh getting ready. Leigh is a natural in front of the camera and I had expected great things when she had previously described her sequinned long dress and the styling of her long hair. Never before have I arrived to be told by the bride that her dress had totally changed earlier on in the week and now her hair instead of being down was in the process of being styled in to a high bun incorporating a plait at the back. Brilliant. So brave. She thanks the ladies from Bradgate Brides who helped with her last minute craziness and the hunt for her new dress. I know Leigh would’ve looked stunning with whichever outfit she had chosen but she really did look amazing. You know a bride looks good when they walk out onto the street and passers by can’t help but comment on how stunning they look!

Whilst I was with Leigh and her girls, Marco my husband and second shooter for the day was with the boys at the couples home. It was to be an unusual day for the groom, as I’ve been reliably informed that Che is rarely seen without his cap. I’d been told in advance that his signature accessory wouldn’t be part of his wedding attire, so when I saw the group pictures of the boys wearing caps. I loved them.

The bride and groom had chosen the grand city centre venue of the City Rooms for their wedding day. After a morning of getting ready with his team, Che arrived looking extremely dapper in his suit. Leigh was upstairs having her make up applied by one extremely talented friend. The room was calm with some emotional tears from the bridesmaids and this loveliness continued right up until the ceremony.

Leigh in her chosen 1950’s styled tea dress adorned with sequins and beads, and her laced cream boots, looked perfect as she headed down the staircase in to the elegant ballroom. Che totally overwhelmed used laughter as a form of holding back his tears. It was a lovely service to witness. The styling of their wedding was perfectly autumnal, with pumpkins filled with orange and purple flowers and golden leaves scattered around the floor and tables.  Unfortunately the weather outside was not so perfect with rain drizzling down all day. I had found some interesting city centre backdrops to contrast the grandness of the beautiful City Rooms interior. Leigh and Che were stars by letting me convince them to venture outside in between the showers. They made one alley in Leicester look damn classy!

Lord and Lady Grimm what can we say, you were surrounded by brilliant friends and family, looking totally awesome and beaming with happiness.  You smashed it! Thanks for inviting us along for your day. xx
