A sneak peek of my first wedding of 2012 . . . 4th February . It was supposed to be a peak but have loved the photographs so much I’ve struggled to edit it down! The marriage of Madi and Ross took place at the idylic church of St Mary’s, Winchfield and then moved on to The Elvetham Hotel. Both were stunning venues for the bride and groom to tie the knot and celebrate in. Madi prepared for the ceremony in a beautifuly lit grand room surrounded by friends whilst Ross downstairs chilled with his groomsmen sipping drinks. The warm and poignant church service was memorable for Ross and Madi’s smiles; happiness evident to see!

The day continued and the warmth of this atmosphere even penetrated the minus temperatures outside! My wish for the evening came true as snowflakes fell. Madi and Ross bravely ventured outside and I hope they now feel like it was worth it. It’s not often that it snows on your wedding day; magical! On the way home, we got snowed in on the M25 for 5 hours. You know what, it was worth it. Thank you to my lovely assistant Linda who worked wonderfully alongside me and kept me company on that long journey home!

Madi and Ross you really were fantastic and a delight to work with. Your day and evening worked just perfect for the both of you! We wish you every bit of happiness for the future xxxx

Engagement Shoot – Charlotte & Danny

What a joy it was to photograph this gorgeous couple! At the beginning of January we had planned a get together at Foxton Locks which will be the location of their wedding in June. Charlotte was really keen to use props and very inventive with the choice of props she had bought along. When we planned the shoot a couple of weeks before we were in the middle of strong gale force winds and rain, so on the Sunday when we met I was so pleased and felt very fortunate to get such wonderful low lying sunshine!

We really did have a good time and a laugh creating these images, Charlotte and Danny were the perfect couple for such a stunning day by the canal.

Thanks for a great time, I could’ve taken pictures of you all day but at some point (when we got too cold and hungry!) we had to stop! I can’t wait to photograph you both on your wedding day, even more excited now than I was! . . . Bring it on! xx

Liz & Jez – 11th October 2011

The pressure is on as I sit and write my latest wedding blog! Jez, the groom, is an exceptionally brilliant writer/reporter and ex colleague of mine from the Mercury. Just have to fact the facts and admit to not being a brilliant writer but hopeful I excel when it comes to pictures!

I was delighted to get the email from Jeremy (also known as Jez ) asking me to capture his wedding day, but there was a catch, I had to do it within a 2 hour window!

Jez and Liz got married at the beginning of October at the Park Farmhouse Hotel, Isley Walton, Near Castle Donington. They decided to tie the knot in their 20th year as a couple in the cozy surroundings of a barn with their nearest and dearest looking on.

Their relaxed and chilled out approach was lovely to see and be around. Liz looked beautiful in a simple and understated ivory dress, Jez looked very smart and their two very grown up children looked every bit the part too.

I managed to squeeze in 20 minutes away with the happy couple just before the light went, we spotted a lovely looking barn house which sat by the side of the road with views of Breedon Hill in the distance – just perfect. (even if we did have to trapse across a few nettles!)

You all looked so happy and it was a delight to be part of your day! Congratulations you two! Hope you had a belter of a day xx

Selina + Laszlo – 17th September 2011

This latest wedding was a tough one to edit as so many things happened! Weddings involving a cultural mix are always interesting to capture and this was no different with Selina from an Asian background and Laszlo originating from Hungary. The Ramada Hotel in Leicester was the venue for Selina and Laszlo’s day. Laszlo loved playing to the camera with his large group of groomsmen in tow and getting pictures of them out and about in town was a real laugh! Selina’s hair and both outfits were amazing as she went from a traditional western ivory dress to the more intricate details of an Asian jewel-adorned dress for the evening celebrations.

The day was full of colour and high emotion from laughter right through to tears. From Selina’s preparations to the Bollywood dancing and first dance under a firing canon of confetti, it was a full on day – of energy and love!

The Indian buffet was superb too and much appreciated! You both looked wonderfully happy with each other. Congratulations! xxxx

And then the evening started . . . . . .

Amanda & Matthew – 14th September 2011

Matt and Amanda had chosen to have an intimate midweek wedding based largely outside. The Autumn weather had truly arrived and I was praying for a dry day for the wedding of Amanda and Matt. I was in luck and so were they! I arrived into the hustle and bustle of Amanda’s home just as bacon sandwiches were being served up. Their daughter Amileigh was a bridesmaid along with two of the bride’s friends and they all looked gorgeous in purple designed dresses from Divine. Amandas something blue was her shoes, held in perfect contrast to her amazing dyed red hair. Looking beautiful, she headed with her mum to Quorn Grange Hotel where her dad was waiting to give her away. The service was held under a picturesque pergola in the hotel gardens, with Amanda and Matt tying the knot in front of their close friends and family. It was a unique experience to photograph an outdoor ceremony, particularly one that was so well orchestrated to the live music duo of Mango. As a final surprise for Amanda, two white doves were set free at the end of service.

All through the pre wedding meetings Amanda and Matthew had emphasized how much they had wanted to go to Bradgate Park for some pics of the two of them. We arrived at Little John and hats off to Amanda who amazingly braved the gale force winds (on a couple of occassions nearly loosing her veil!) – well worth it though. We left just as the sun was going down.

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Perkins for such a unique and fab wedding on a wednesday! I so enjoyed your day! xxxx

Victoria and Andrew – 3rd September 2011

What a busy few weeks – I’ve got lots of wonderful weddings to share!

I’d like to begin with the beautiful wedding of Victoria and Andrew, who decided to celebrate their day in the romantic Cotswolds village of Lower Slaughter (my first visit to this part of the country and I’ll definitely be back!). I love photographing in new surroundings and this was a truly beautiful location The whole day was spent in and around a 17th century manor and it was the perfect venue for them. Victoria looked amazing and Andrew very dapper in his very unusual but fun pink striped jacket. The details were great; butterflies, the cakes (one for each table) and not forgetting the ducks!

Guests spent the afternoon sipping drinks and listening to live music out in the gardens. Myself and my assistant Linda did manage to whisk the newly weds away from it all to venture out into the village and the pretty River Eye.

A wedding photographers dream . . . . .

Thanks for a great day and for getting me to explore a tiny part of the Cotswolds! Congratulations!!

Lydia & Phil – 27th August 2011

Lydia and Phil were married at Chesford Grange Hotel, Kenilworth on the Saturday of the August Bank Holiday. In true British weather style the weekend was a wash out! Although the skies were full of rainclouds we managed to dodge the rain and get some beautiful pictures of the happy couple. Phil was calm and collected and took the day in his stride. Lydia’s beautiful smile beamed all day! Joining their celebration was Charlie their little boy and a lovely crowd of family and friends who seemed to all enjoy the day as much as the bride and groom.

We had a super day and were made to feel very welcome by you and your guests – Congratulations Mr and Mrs Carr!

Steph & David – 19th August 2011

The beautiful wedding of Steph and David! They were married in the idyllic setting of Halstead House, Tilton on the Hill. Such a great couple with a super cute two year old boy Paddy. Steph wore a timeless classic ivory dress and customised it with an amazing chunky diamonte choker- style necklace. A very nervous and emotional David waited in the victorian barn for his bride’s late arrival! The service was beautiful with some personal touches, a reading from their nephew and music by a friend. The whole day had a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere to it – the sun shone, games were played on the lawn and lots of love was shared. I loved all of the “love” and “heart” signs!

Thank you to the lovely Linda who was my assistant for the day! And THANKS to the new Mr & Mrs Shoebridge, we both had a great time shooting your big day! XX

Craig & Debbie – 6th August 2011

Batteries all recharged from two weeks in Italy we joined the celebrations of Craig and Debbie’s wedding. It took place at Ullesthorpe Court Hotel on what was forecast to be a wet day. Luckily for them and us the sun shone and created gorgeous white cloud blue skies. I first met Craig and Debbie on a Leicester Mercury shoot photographing their little girl Evie who was born prematurely. Next thing I was booked to photograph their wedding day! That was nearly 2 years ago and Evie is now a gorgeous little girl toddling everywhere!

Craig and Debbie are a great couple and their love for each other, and their children was so obvious to see.

Craig looked smart in his morning suit and had Charlie (their little boy) keeping him in check! Debbie walked down the aisle, in a beautiful stunning red dress, behind an entourage of bridesmaids, flower girls and a page boy. We couldn’t wait to get the two of them out in the golden wheat field (we had already spotted that one!). The blue skies, yellow palette and red poppies were a perfect backdrop for such a lovely couple.

Thank you to the happy couple for a fantastic day and evening! Hope you’ve had a fabulous honeymoon! xxxx

Niki & Simon – 11th June 2011

I had a great day photographing the wedding of Niki and Simon. It was the first time I had photographed at Allington Manor , a 17th century house steeped in history, set in Lincolnshire. Niki looked gorgeous in her ivory dress and was very calm as she got ready in the exquisite bedrooms upstairs. Simon was just walking distance away enjoying a pint in the local pub with his Best Man. The service was intimate and concluded with a poem written and read out by Niki’s Mum. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room, including mine! So far this year the weather for my weddings has been fantastic but I thought my luck had ran out. However, after a short heavy downpour the sun was back. We managed to get outside into the beautiful grounds for some shots of the two of them (and a horse that hijacked the pics!). Good on you Niki and Simon you held out for the weather to brighten up and it did, you got your wish and dined outside!

Your day was beautiful, full of love – Allington Manor and your guests made me feel very welcome!

I wish you both a happy future together! xx
